Temple of Poseidon and Amphitrite

During ancient times, Tinos (similar to Delos) was one of the most important religious centers. In the 5th century B.C. it became the center of worship of Poseidon who was worshiped both as a sea god and as a healer. In the 3rd century B.C. the temple was the reconstructed and expanded and Amphitrite started being worshiped. She was the wife of Poseidon and the goddess of fertility.

Pigeon Houses of Tinos

The Pigeon Houses are compositions of Greek folk architecture. The first official written evidence of the existence of these houses dates back in 1726 and mentions a ruined house in Cave location near the Komi. They are stone buildings and consist of two floors.

Monastery Kechrovouni

Monastery Kechrovouni  is located in Monastiri area and specifically on a steep slope at a height of 650 meters above sea level. It is dedicated to Virgin Mary and was founded by the daughters of a wealthy family of Tinos in the 11th or 12th century.

Arnados

A picturesque village on the slopes of Kehrovouni mountain near the monastery of Agia Pelagia, located 7 km from the town of Tinos. It is known for its famous arches of the medieval era and the cobblestoned streets and alleys. In the square of the village you can see the impressive church of Christ's Ascension (1600 AD architecture style). All houses have courtyards full of flowers and the inhabitants are friendly and hospitable farmers.
There is a church museum in the village. It houses old icons and books

Volakas

Here you will see a unique in the world scenery which has been internationally recognized as a soil paradox: Rocks scattered everywhere on barren land. This is a unique moonscape which is definitely worth the visit.

Kardiani

This is one of the prettiest villages of the island. It is 16 km far from the main town and the first village of Exo Meria. It is located on the mountainside of Pateles mountain and offers a spectacular view to the sea.

The village is full of trees and flowers, it has crystal clear waters, beautiful two-storey houses with picturesque stairs, flower gardens, whitewashed cobblestoned streets and arches, and it will definitely amaze you.

Panormos

Panormos is a beautiful fishing village on the northern part of the island; a natural small port with fish restaurants by the sea. This is the seaport of Pyrgos and one of the most beautiful destinations in Tinos.

This coastal settlement used to be one of the two major ports of the island and a transshipment center in the past century. The goods (such as wheat) arrived to Panormos from Greece and abroad and offered milling work to the windmills that are deserted nowadays.
